Durham College consistently achieves excellent graduate employment rates.
Industry-based programs: Our programs are continually shaped by market needs through Program Advisory Committees (PACs). More than 1,000 local industry and business leaders sit on 77 PACs, which means Durham College can tap into participant expertise to ensure its programs are current and aligned with industry trends. Our programs are also delivered by expert teachers with real-world experience.
Supported student experience: We aim to make your international student experience an amazing one. You will be supported from the moment you arrive, through a range of services including: arrival and accommodation assistance, international orientation, academic learning support, health and well-being services, career services, sports and clubs, disability support, financial aid and much more. You can also participate in a variety of organized events and activities on campus to make new friends.
Field placements: Receiving training in your chosen field before you graduate is an excellent way to gain valuable skills and first-hand experience. Durham College offers placements in a number of its programs, where students work at a business or organization in their chosen field for a set period of time. The field placement component enables students to practice and integrate the skills and knowledge acquired in their program while also gaining valuable Canadian work experience, the ability to meet deadlines and problem-solve, time management and the ability to adapt behavior in response to professional feedback.
“My program had a compulsory field placement component. I had the opportunity to gain industry experience during my studies and completed my placement at Greentrack Environmental as a Data Analyst for industrial wastes. I am currently working for Nasiruddin Engineering Limited as an Engineering Inspector in Mississauga in Ontario, Canada.”
