HOW TO MODIFY YOUR STUDY PERMIT WHEN CHANGING YOUR SCHOOLS/PROGRAM?

CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS TO CHANGE OR EXTEND THEIR STAY IN CANADA AS A STUDENT

For primary school students, you must apply to modify the study permit when you are going to enroll in secondary school.

For high school (secondary school) students, you must apply to modify the study permit when you going to enroll into university.

For post-secondary students, you must apply to modify the study permit when you change your university if there is a specific institution name on the study permit.

NOTICE: everyone applying for a visitor visa, a work/study permit (not including US nationals), permanent residence, or refugee or asylum status need to give finger prints and photo biometrics. This applies to:

  • applicants from EUROPE, the MIDDLE EAST, and AFRICA starting July 31, 2018.
  • applicants from ASIA, ASIA PACIFIC and the AMERICAS starting December 31, 2018.
